Estamos en San Ignacio

Our final destination in Argentina (well for now anyway) was San Ignacio… it was just a quick stop over on our way from Puerto Iguazú to Encarnación, but we enjoyed it nonetheless 🙂

San Ignacio is home to San Ignacio Miní, one of the numerous Jesuit Missions dotted around the area. It’s a UNESCO World heritage area, and the main (only) reason for a visit to San Ignacio… We spent the afternoon at the mission and quite enjoyed it… to be honest I enjoyed it more than I thought I would… I’m sure you’d all love to see some pictures of the ruins so here they are!!!

San Ignacio Miní ruins
Check out the cactus at San Ignacio Miní ruins – not quite Valle Fertíl landscape but it made me smile 🙂 [if you can’t see the cactus, look more closely – only clever people can see it….]
Check out this baby Southern Lapwing…. how cute is he… Could this be the real reason we spent so long at the ruins?
