Animals of Manu

Manu National Park is apparently home to more than 200 species of mammals, 800 species of birds, 68 species of reptiles, 77 species of amphibians and more than 1,300 recorded species of butterflies… not to mention heaps of insects etc.

However, just because there are heaps of animals in a national park, it doesn’t mean that animal sightings are guaranteed to happen :-(…

In total we added TEN animals to our ‘new animals seen in South America list’ while we were in Manu National Park – which we were pretty chuffed with 🙂 However, in reality we saw heaps more – it’s just that trying to ID all the new frogs and insects got put into the ‘too hard basket’, and therefore they don’t count on the list!!!

Anyway here is our AWESOME gallery of Manu wildlife…
