Parque Das Aves

Our love of birds and our inability to adequately spot them in the wild (hopefully this will change once we arrive in the Pantanal) drove us to visit Parque Das Aves which is next to Iguazu Falls…

This bird park is pretty cool – not only does it have heaps of cool birds, some of which are quite cooperative when you point a camera at them… but it’s housing and rehabilitating birds that have been either rescued from traffickers or owners that have treated them badly.

Here are some of my favourite pics 🙂

Mr Toco toucan with his incredible bill… Did you know – a toco toucan’s bill is very light?
A King Vulture
A hyacinth macaw… the largest parrot in the world!
A Black-fronted piping guan.
A grey crowned crane.
