The final numbers

Yes, it’s the moment you’ve all been waiting for!! The final statistics of the whole trip!

But first of all let’s start with the stats for the final leg – officially known as ‘Stage 5’ – which was Panama City to Mexico City.

Here they are:

Countries visited: 8 (Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Belize, Mexico)
Distance travelled by bus: 6,350km
Number of buses/minivans/colectivos taken: 52

So on the final leg of the journey we stayed an average of ONLY 3.4 nights in each location… yes, we picked up the pace and CANED it through Central America at high speed…

Other averages were 5.28 nights per stop for stage 4 – Lima to Medellín, 4.66 nights per stop for stage 3 – Santiago to Lima, 4.48 nights per stop for stage 2 – Buenos Aires to Santiago, and 3.44 nights per stop for stage 1 –Santiago to Buenos Aires.
